In Loving Memory
"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce our beloved Chad "Chadwick" Stephan Watson, at 51 years old, passed away Sunday, December 3rd, 2023 at Sunnybrook Hospital after fighting a hard battle in the ICU from a motorcycle accident on November 13th. Chad was surrounded by his family at the end, and is finally at peace.

Chad was born the oldest of three brothers to Denise Meeking and Steven Watson in Brampton, ON on September 20th, 1972. He spent his childhood between Brampton, British Colombia, Wiarton, and Burlington; he was an adventurer, never the type of person to stay in one place for too long. Chad was a volleyball prodigy in his younger years out west, he loved to be active and especially enjoyed skiing, ski-doing, boating, biking, dirt biking, motorcycles, anything with a throttle or an adrenaline rush. Chad had a spirited, passionate, and carefree soul which manifested in everything he did, he had a work-hard-play-hard mentality that ruled the way he lived his life. He was an extremely hard worker since his early teen years, his most notable being a specially skilled waiter at Pizza Hut and Swiss Chalet who could balance upwards of 12 plates up his arms. He brought the same skill to Weed Man, running up and down people's lawns doing a whole day's work in half the time. Chad dedicated 20 years to the Local 183 Union, planning to retire in just two more years. His retirement plans consisted of travelling the world, spending more time with his family, and many more crazy adventures to come.

However, Chad never lived life like there was more of it, he lived unapologetically and seized every opportunity to travel and truly made the most of every day. Between his travels to Florida for Spring Breaks, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Novia Scotia, and Sault St. Marie with his partner in crime, Tammy Watson, his weekend trips all over Ontario and Cuba with his children, countless ventures at the cottage in Port McNicoll with his brother, Wade, as well as his kids, Cydney, McLean, and Zee, and friends, including boating trips to Beausoleil, Beckwith Island, and Giants Tomb. The cottage was always his dream, and he loved having people there to share it with. In 2019 Chad travelled to Nepal to climb Everest Base Camp with his brother, Clint, a trip very special to him. He's since made it to Thailand just last year to celebrate his 50th birthday.

Although he was a traveller, Chad had one routine relationship that persisted no matter where in the world he was, and that was his dedication to fitness. In 2017 Chad went to a fitness facility in South Carolina, Live In Fitness, for three months to focus on his physical health. The gym and leading a healthy lifestyle have played a major role in his life ever since, and he was so proud of the progress he had made.

Chad wore many titles: dad, brother, son, husband, partner, friend, colleague, comedian. Although that last one was self proclaimed, anyone who knew him would agree. After all, a common catch phrase of Chad's was "I don't give a dance."

The loving father of Cydney, McLean, and Zee Watson, beloved husband, friend, and partner in crime to Tammy Watson, cherished son to Steve Watson and Denise Meeking (Pat Minetola), protective older brother to Wade (Jennifer Smith) and Clint Watson, Uncle to Ruxton Watson and David Clough, and remembered fondly by many of his aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, colleagues, and neighbours. Chad's legacy will live on forever in the people he loved so dearly.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 22nd, 2023 starting at 1:00pm, located at Brampton Crematorium & Visitation Centre, 30 Bramwin Court, Brampton, ON, L6T 5G2. We invite guests to wear green or Harley attire instead of black to honour Chad.

We carry on in Chad's memory by living a big life in honour of a man who never did anything small. Mmm2u, until we meet again, Momma Jamz."
