Dilani Weerasinghe passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on February 20, 2026, in Toronto, Canada, at the age of 55.
Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to the late Ranjani Fernando and Thiagie Weerasinghe, Dilani carried with her a deep love for family, learning, and service throughout her life. She spent time in Canada pursuing her education before returning to Sri Lanka, where she continued to grow both personally and professionally. Her dedication, strength, and determination were qualities admired by many.
Beyond her accomplishments, Dilani will be remembered most for her warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit. She had a gift for connecting with people and formed lasting friendships wherever life took her. Whether traveling to new places, enjoying music, watching Formula One and cricket, or simply sharing laughter at home, she embraced life with enthusiasm and grace.
Dilani had a compassionate heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She devoted time and energy to supporting those in need, including efforts to assist children and families affected by hardship. Giving back brought her great joy, and she believed deeply in kindness and community.
Above all, Dilani treasured her role as a mother. Her son was the light of her life, and she took immense pride in guiding and supporting him. The love she gave so freely will remain a lasting legacy in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, strength, and generous spirit.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Roshan, her son Dyan and her sister Dilhari (Ruwan), her nephews Renuk,Dinuk,her aunts and uncles Shriyani, Annesley, Preethie, Randolph and many other
loving family and friends for her sense of humor and enormous love for everyone.
Visitation will take place on Monday, February 23rd, 2026, from 1:00-3:00pm at Brampton Crematorium and Visitation Centre INC.
